The power of personal recommendation or “word of mouth” is huge.  How often do we see people on Facebook asking for recommendations for a plumber, carpenter or “man with a van”?  How often do you buy something, especially an expensive item, without reading the customer reviews?  Many websites such as Rated People actually exist for this very reason!!

Of course this concept works especially well in the Wedding Industry.  As a Photography I get to meet and see the work of many other professionals.  We also often get the inside track from the bride or groom – the real truth of how good or bad that hairdresser, venue, makeup artist etc really was.  Of course we are also subject to the opinion of other professionals … it works both ways   🙂
